Listening at bigger scale for better decision-making

Story-based participatory sensemaking in complex contexts

Participatory narrative sensemaking is an innovative approach that guides interventions in complex systems while strengthening the relationships among diverse stakeholders - combining numbers and data analytics with stories and collective wisdom.

Two-day in-person workshop: Ljubljana/Slovenia, 16 - 17 May 2022

This hands-on workshop might be for you if you want to:

  • Understand what matters to your beneficiaries, employees or citizens by listening to real-life stories.

  • Identify emergent patterns and trends in complex environments - by combining stories, data analytics, and collective wisdom.

  • Use people’s daily life experiences to guide your strategic planning and actions for the future.

  • Measure or track the progress of your initiatives through mass-capture of people’s experiences.

The methodology, based on SenseMaker,  uses the collection of a large number of stories and personal experiences as a starting point and enables respondents to analyze and give meaning to their own stories. It is designed to help generate actionable insights and guide interventions in complex systems and processes.
